Finest Sports Bars in Cardiff to Drink a Pint In

If you ever find yourself in Cardiff, you will be met with a dilemma. There are many sports bars to choose from, but what are the best ones for newcomers? Also, where do they serve the finest beer and let you watch the greatest sports? I got you covered. Here are 5 bars that I enjoyed visiting in Cardiff and I hope you’ll find them to your liking.

Tiger Tiger

Tiget Tiger, burning bright, in the forests of the night. What immortal hand or eye could enjoy four projectors and a plasma screen TV to watch sports on? Well, just about anyone is welcome here. There is no strict dress code as such, though the bar does ask you to abstain from wearing joggers. Apart from being a great venue for enjoying sports, it has a wide selection of food and drinks and allows you to book a party or join one of their events.

The Old Market Tavern

This bar may seem like a regular pub at first glance, but they provide their patrons with the latest sports events in football, rugby, boxing, and golf, among others. Apart from the regular menu, there are several promotions and deals concerning food and drinks and you can visit their website to book and find out if there are any interesting upcoming events.

Coyote Ugly

This is a perfect bar if you like to walk on the wild side. Major sporting events are regularly followed here, there is plenty to eat and drink and you may even find yourself dancing the night away if there are no major sporting events afoot. It’s open every day from 12 p.m. to 2 a.m. with the exception of Friday and Saturday nights, when you can stay up until 3 in the morning. The reviews are mostly positive, with a few minor exceptions. While this is an excellent bar, it is not for everyone, so it may be a good idea to find a plan B just in case.

Yard Bar and Kitchen

Here is something you don’t see every day – a family-friendly sports bar. Just because you have children doesn’t mean you should forego sky sports, am I right? The bar has baby-changing facilities, making it very accommodating. There is also free Wi-Fi and an excellent selection of sports and food. Because it is family-friendly, you may think that it’s a bit on the bland side. Nothing can be further from the truth, as there is live music on Saturdays and Sundays.

O’Neill’s

O’Neill’s covers a wide range of sports, including horse races and motorsports. It is a perfect place to have a sports party in, as it can hold up to 500 guests, though the minimum is around 50. The atmosphere is friendly and comfortable and it should definitely be on your list of bars to visit while in Cardiff, regardless of whether you are a fan of sports or not.
