Being prepared is half the battle. Only purchase books which are supplied by the Driving Standards Agency. After all these are the people who take you for your test. Buying cheaper alternatives won't necessary save you money!
There are many books, CD Rom's and videos available. Invest in the best and make sure you pass your theory first time. You will not be able to take your driving test until you've passed your theory.
The theory test now has Hazard Awareness video included where you will be checked upon your reaction to hazards. This is on top of a multiple choice of 35 questions. You will need a total of 30 correct answers to pass.
The theory pass lasts for two years. This means that you must pass your driving test within two years otherwise you will have to re site the theory test.
