John & Sandy Price invite you to stay at their Guesthouse / Bed and Breakfast “Caer Menai” situated within the Old Town Walls of the Castle in Caernarfon, North West Wales

.

One of the few complete Walled Towns in Britain and just a short walk from the fortress built by King Edward 1 in the late 13th Century. Caernarfon is a World listed Heritage site and an area steeped in centuries of History from pre-Roman times.

Caernarfon is the County Town of Gwynedd and a major Tourist centre and a busy market town. Very strongly Welsh, with over 70% speaking as they’re first language. Don’t worry, everything is also shown in English and translations into European languages such as French, German, Spanish and Italian are also available.

Caer Menai is a Georgian / Victorian listed building with many typical features from those eras. Site of the first County School in 1844, it was converted into a Guesthouse in 1974, offering very high standard accommodation to our guests but retaining its original features. We are accredited with the AA and WTB 4 Star rating.

A quiet location between the Castle and the Harbour and backing on to the Promenade. It is also close to all the amenities of Caernarfon, which has a host of Shops, Restaurants, Pubs and Craft Shops. Sports facilities available at the Leisure Centre and several Golf Clubs in the area.

Something for everyone.

This is an ideal location for visiting not only the Royal Town, but also the many attractions of North West Wales. Just 7 miles from Llanberis and the foot of Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales and England, and a myriad of walks and scrambles for the casual weekender, to the ardent enthusiast. The world famous village of Portmeirion is open all year and not to be missed. Do you remember the cult T.V. series “The Prisoner” with Patrick McGoohan filmed here. A visit to Anglesey with more attractions is also a “must”.
